Amid the successive crises our nation is going through, and the rapid shifts in the Islamic and Arab scenes, it has become necessary to reconsider the tools of our awareness, and to review what is being broadcast to us — how, and why.
It has become clear to every discerning observer that there are operations rooms working around the clock, run directly or through intermediaries by Zionist parties, whose mission is to sow discord and dismantle societies from within — not through military force, but by infiltrating public awareness and distorting collective perception.
Anyone monitoring social media platforms notices the scale of this infiltration: fake accounts claiming to represent countries, groups, or ideological currents, but whose real goal is to stir up sectarian, tribal, and denominational animosities.
A tweet or post filled with incitement is published, and replies race to pile up around it — some from paid accounts, some from real people who've been misled — amplifying the content and creating a state of controversy and polarization, until the small incident turns into a manufactured matter of public opinion.
Here lies one of the most dangerous methods of contemporary psychological warfare, at which the Zionist enemy has succeeded remarkably, exploiting the fragility of public awareness, people's susceptibility to emotional reaction, and the weakness of fact-checking.
The Zionist thinker Ben-Gurion pointed to this concept when he said: "We will not defeat the Arabs except by tearing apart their internal unity."
This tearing apart, unfortunately, is no longer merely an enemy's wish — it has become a daily reality on social media pages, on screens, on podiums, and even among ordinary people.
The Noble Quran preceded this warning when it linked victory to unity of ranks, and defeat to division, as God Almighty says:
"And do not dispute and [thus] lose courage and [then] your strength would depart..." [Al-Anfal: 46]
How much we have disputed, and how much our strength has departed!
In the Prophetic hadith, the Messenger of God ﷺ emphasized the danger of tribalism and blind loyalties, saying: "Leave it, for it is foul," when he heard of a quarrel between a Muhajir and an Ansari, in which each cried out, "O so-and-so!" and "O so-and-so!" The Prophet ﷺ denounced it, making clear that tribal and sectarian fanaticism is a foul smell that pulls us out of the ethics of Islam into a repugnant ignorance (jahiliyyah).
It is not only the enemy who tampers with our minds; more dangerous still, some of our Arab regimes have become active partners in this chaos.
How much official media incites its own people against a segment of Muslims, for no reason other than to please its alliances or protect its power? And how many a ruler has sold his position and loyalty in exchange for securing his seat? These are not merely tools of external infiltration — they are true traitors, contributing to striking the nation from within.
God Almighty described this pattern in His saying:
"Those who wait [and watch] you. Then if you gain a victory from God, they say, 'Were we not with you?'" [An-Nisa: 141]
And they are today the same ones who dance on every table, changing colors according to interest, deceiving people with double-talk.
What made matters worse is the electronic flies (troll armies) that some intelligence services in Arab states have planted — not to fight an external enemy, but to silence people, smear intellectuals, and falsify public discourse.
The French thinker Jacques Ellul pointed to this kind of media manipulation, saying: "The most dangerous kind of propaganda is that which is practiced without the recipient feeling it."
This is exactly what happens, when public awareness is managed through directed algorithms, blurred images, and shiny headlines hiding dangerous agendas behind them.
The most dangerous thing we face is not only military occupation, but cultural and intellectual occupation; some minds have fallen into the trap of hatred, some pens into the swamp of dependency, and some peoples into a whirlpool of mutual accusation and treason-labeling.
Until we now see people "boasting" about insulting another Muslim country, or thinking that belittling others is a victory for themselves!
The Prophet ﷺ made clear that the nation is one body, saying: "The believers in their mutual love, mercy, and compassion are like one body: when a limb suffers, the rest of the body responds with sleeplessness and fever." [Narrated by Muslim]
If we see in the nation rivals instead of brothers, and are dragged along behind propaganda of division, when will we rise from our slumber?
The thinker Malek Bennabi said: "Colonialism does not enter a country except after it has created within it a susceptibility to being colonized."
